Support & how to use

A quick guide to using No Cookie Popups and managing your sites. Once installed, most of it just works in the background.

How it works

After you add No Cookie Popups to Firefox, it starts working right away. As each page loads, it looks for cookie consent banners and overlays and dismisses or hides them for you. There is nothing to configure to get started, just keep browsing and the banners stay out of your way.

The toolbar icon shows the current state for the site you are on, so you can always tell whether hiding is on or off at a glance.

Turning hiding on or off for a site

Sometimes you may want to leave the banner in place on a particular site. You can switch hiding off, or back on, for whatever site you are viewing:

  1. Open the site you want to change.
  2. Click the No Cookie Popups icon in your toolbar to open the popup.
  3. Use the on and off control for the current site. When hiding is off, the site is added to your "sites with hiding off" list.
  4. Click the same control again any time to turn hiding back on.

The toolbar icon updates to reflect the new state so you always know where things stand.

Managing your sites from the toolbar

The toolbar popup includes a site manager so you can adjust your list without leaving the page you are on:

Managing your sites from the options page

You can manage the exact same list from the full options page, which gives you a clear, organized view of every site:

  1. Open Firefox's Add-ons manager (menu → Add-ons and themes), or right-click the toolbar icon and choose the options entry.
  2. Find No Cookie Popups and open its options / preferences.
  3. Use the add, edit, and remove controls to manage the list of sites where banner hiding is turned off.
  4. Enter domains in the form example.com. The page lets you know if an entry is a duplicate or not a valid domain.

Your list stays in sync

Whether you make a change in the toolbar popup or on the options page, your site list is shared everywhere. A site you add in the popup shows up on the options page right away, and a change on the options page appears in the popup too. There is no separate list to keep track of.
